Maria Mayer

Maria Mayer studied at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle, attending classes of textile, fashion and painting. In 2019 she started working as an artist, researcher and educator. She experiments the extraction of natural dyes and raw materials from her immediate environment and looks for human connections to nature. Her work focuses primarily on the medium of textiles and its rich cultural history. In 2022, she was honored with the Bavarian Prize for International Young Artists of Arts and Crafts. She is a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists in Germany.
